The Mexican Sugar Maple is one of the rarest Maple trees in the United States. It is also called the Mexican Cloud Maple because it comes from the Cloud Forest. It rarely seeds so we can go years without seeing a single Mexican Sugar Maple for sale. Then, one year, a new crop will show up and get bought out quick! We currently carry about a dozen fully grown, mature Mexican Sugar Maple trees in 30 gallon sizes. Give us a call or come into the nursery to see or purchase this beautiful, one of a kind tree!

Mexican Sugar Maple
The Mexican Sugar Maple makes a leaf about twice the size of a typical Bigtooth Maple tree. It has a tough texture that can take high heat and a beautiful pure green color in the spring. The Mexican Sugar Maple has been proven to do well in South Central Texas when properly cared for. This tree needs more water than a typical Bigtooth Maple tree, but has a faster growth rate and can be a true joy to witness. The Mexican Sugar Maple grows a little bit taller and wider than a Bigtooth Maple ( 50Ft Tall by 30Ft wide) The Mexican Sugar Maple makes a deep yellowish-orange fall foliage. While this tree can handle direct sunlight and intense heat, it is common for the Mexican Sugar Maple to slightly scorch during the hottest months of the year. With proper care and plenty of water this tree can avoid most of these issues.
